Your goal when playing Blackjack is to get a higher card count than the dealer, nonetheless, you must not go over the count of 21.
The best hand you can have is the “Blackjack” : a combination of two cards that have a total value of 21 (face card + Ace or 10 + Ace).
Your only opponent is the dealer. The 7 players sitting at the table are all playing against the bank (the dealer).
The Blackjack game is played with a deaing shoe of 8 decks of cards. The dealer always stands on 17 or higher, otherwise he must pick an additional card until getting to 17 or “busting”.
A bust is when you or the dealer have more than 21. You are then disqualified for the current game and you lose your bet.
After the betting time has expired, each player is dealt a face up card and the dealer gets one too. Dealing starts with the first player to the dealer’s left and continues clockwise, ending with the dealer. The dealer then deals a second card face up to each player, but the dealer’s second card is dealt face down. On online casinos the value of your initial hand is displayed next to your cards, otherwise, the dealer will say it out loud.
You win when your hand is better than the dealers, or when the dealer busts. You win twice your bet value on a regular hand, and 2.5x when you get a Blackjack.

Every card from 2 to 10 are worth their face value, Face cards (Jacks, Queens, and Kings) are each worth 10.
Aces are worth 1 or 11, whichever is more favorable to the hand. A “soft” hand is an Ace thats worth 11 + other cards.

Insurance on Dealer’s
When the dealer’s upcard is an Ace, you are given the option to purchase insurance in case the dealer has a Blackjack – even when you have Blackjack yourself.f
The insurance amount is equal to one half of your main bet, and is not added to it. The dealer then peeks at the value of his/her face down card to check if he has a Blackjack.
If the dealer does not have a Blackjack, the round continues. If the dealer has a Blackjack, but you don’t, the dealer wins. Another situation could be that the dealer and you both have a Blackjack, the game then ends in a push your bet is returned.f
Note that when the dealer’s upcard is a 10 or a face card, you will not be given the option to purchase insurance, and the dealer will not peek at his downcard to check for Blackjack.

Double Down your bet, Hit or Stand
When the dealer does not have Blackjack after checking his/her two initial cards, players are given the chance to improve the values of their hands. The dealer then gives each players the opportunity to draw more cards to improve their hands.
If the value of your initial hand is not 21, you can decide to Double Down. In this case, you will double your bet and be dealt only one additional card to add to your hand. Alternatively, you can decide to Hit to be dealt an additional card to add to the value of your hand. You can Hit more than once to receive additional cards and stand when you are satisfied with the value of your hand.
If your initial hand is a pair of cards of equal value, you can decide to Split that pair into two separate hands, each with a separate bet equal to your main bet. After a second card is dealt to both your hands, you can improve their value by deciding to Hit. Again, you can choose to Stand once you are satisfied with the value of both of your hands.
However if you Split an initial pair of Aces, you will receive only one additional card per hand with no option to Hit again.
